House Competitions
Christ’s students are assigned to four houses: Attenborough, Dickens, Elizabeth and Turing. The four houses are named after notable Great Britons who are connected with Richmond.
Throughout the year the Houses compete for the Swinburne Trophy which is awarded to the House that achieves the most House academic points. House achievement points are awarded by each department. They are awarded to students for excellence in the classroom and homework. Staff aim to award 2-3 House achievement points per lesson. House points are logged on line by the staff. Heads of Year and Tutors monitor these points and hold reward and celebration assemblies.
Houses compete for the Greenwood Shield in sports, and we have Winter and Summer sports days which are run in Autumn and Summer terms.
We aim to provide each student with the opportunity to participate in a House Competition across all departments and on a whole school level. We want to help students develop personal qualities of leadership, courage, integrity, resilience and determination and enable students to make a positive contribution to their community and to society as a whole
