Overview

At Christ's School, we prepare our students for the future by equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing digital world.

Our Computing curriculum emphasises safe, creative, and positive use of technology, focusing on three key areas: digital literacy, computer science, and information technology. These areas are reinforced throughout a student’s time at school to ensure deep learning and skill development. Our goal is for Computing to not only enhance cross-curricular learning but also support students' future career opportunities.

Facilities

We have two fully equipped computer labs running the Windows operating systems, complete with all necessary software. Students also have access to BBC MicroBits and 3D printing facilities for hands-on learning and innovation.

Key Stage 3

Unlock the world of technology with our KS3 Computer Science programme, designed in line with the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) standards. Dive into the fundamentals of programming, algorithms, and data handling, while developing problem-solving skills and computational thinking. Through engaging projects and hands-on activities, students will explore topics such as coding languages, digital systems, and the impact of technology on society. Get ready to build a strong foundation for future studies and careers in the ever-evolving digital landscape!

Key Stage 4

Prepare for the future with our KS4 Computer Science course, following the OCR curriculum. This course equips students with essential skills in programming, algorithms, and systems architecture, fostering a deep understanding of how technology shapes our world. Through practical projects and real-world applications, students will learn to code, solve complex problems, and analyse data. With a focus on computational thinking and digital literacy, this course not only prepares students for their GCSE exams but also lays the groundwork for further studies and careers in technology. Embrace innovation and creativity as you explore the exciting realm of computer science!
